Documentary about the cultural Heritage of Sociability in Évora, premiere at European Researchers Night! NEI

Welcome to the premiere of the documentary “The Cultural Heritages of sociability spaces”. It seeks to understand the history and material heritage of Évora’s associations & gentlemanly capitalism clubs. As the documentary remarks, the traces of those who stay alive in Évora remain in the same buildings. This city is “like a real museum of sociability spaces”, states Maria Zozaya-Montes.
This film tours the leading associations born in the 19th century in Évora and compares them with others from Portugal and Spain. It discovers, as its title indicates, “The Cultural Heritages of sociability, The Genmtlemanly capitalism clubs in Évora”. It presents the contemporary forms of sociability that emerged in Portugal during the 19th and 20th centuries, from a specific case, the city of Évora, comparing it with the Spanish ones. It recovers the sound of the 19th & 20th Century sounds that were heard in those sociability spaces.
